To all the artists, crew, producers, directors and designers that are making work, touring work, writing grant applications, training, auditioning and those that have just finished Edinburgh Festival.
Are you OK? Are you aware of how you are coping?
Burn out can happen when we push ourselves beyond our limits and is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion. It can sometimes occur when we feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands. If this sounds like what you are experiencing it’s important to be extra gentle on yourself and simplify things as much as you can. Some simple ways to ease burnout are:
- Eat super healthy. Ditch the crap
- Limit alcohol.
- Sleep. Loads of it.
- Connect with people you trust and talk about how you feel.
- Get professional help if the above doesn’t help from a counsellor or a GP.
