Series Background:
‘Tales From The Training Room Floor’ is a collaboration between Carnival Cinema and the National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA).
I pitched the idea to Georgia Mill (NICA‘s marketing manager & Multidisciplinary Artist ) to make a little series of short-form behind-the-scenes videos of what its like to learn & teach different circus disciplines, awhile ago and now it has come to fruition for your viewing pleasure.
I wanted to give an insight into the reality of going to an elite level Circus School, not just the flashy performance outcomes which makes up such a tiny part of these students 3 years but the everyday – the dedication which is needed to pursue these skills, the way both students and trainers approach the daily grind of training different skills and what its like to do it day in day out.
I hope you enjoyed this little series,
Peace & Respect,
Hamish
