This ‘Pick of the Net’ is a collection of videos of ‘Vintage’ Circus Women.
There are lots of videos and I will add to it (so check back!) as I thought it would be good to have a curated ‘archive’ of all these great acts – please send through any that you find on the net. Some have info on who they are etc and others don’t I’m afraid.
I hope you enjoy,
Hx
HONEY GIRLS, THE, female acrobatic quartette (USA, 1956)
The Florence Honey Girls were four female acrobats headed by Sydney-born Miss Florence ‘Coochie’ Honey (1911-1978) who came to the USA with her family of acrobats from Australia in 1926. Coochie organised her quartet of female acrobats in the 1950s. Coochie was the daughter of Alfred Honey, an American gymnast, and his wife, Daisy, nee St Leon, of an old Australian circus family. Coochie is the third lady to march on at the clip’s commencement and sits at the far left at clip’s closing.
