The Manifesto 3#
All humans are creative. Some just lean into their creativity more than others. As artists/designers /makers/performers most of you reading this exist in this world as creatives. It’s your job, your income and your identity. But what happens when you can’t create? Lack of work, injury, illness? Have you noticed how this manifests in your body? Your head? I personally found the transition from performer to counsellor difficult to navigate. Where does my creativity live in this new way of being? I eventually realised that my creativity is my strength and it can show up in other places in my life. It remembers me, it soothes me. Is there a way you can take care of yourself during difficult times by using your creativity?
Unused creativity is not benign–it metastasizes. It turns into grief, rage, judgement, sorrow, shame. We are creative beings. We are by nature creative. – Brené Brown
