I have been documenting my friend Jess Love (La Soiree, Candy Butchers, Circus Oz, Circa, The Burlesque Hour – the list goes on) for the last 11 years, all over the world in various companies & shows.
To follow on from my Top 5# Tips post this week about creating solo shows , I thought this video from the Carnival Cinema Archives was fitting. I made in 2011, after she had created her first solo show ‘And the Little One Said’, it brings you a very candid conversation with Jess about the creative process and her journey in creating her show.
Australian born, UK Based, Jess graduated from Melbourne’s National Institute of Circus Arts with a Bachelor of Circus Arts in 2003. Her specialties are hula-hoops, tumbling, acrobatics, skipping, double trapeze and hoop diving.
